Hi everybody! Today I am going to
talk about my opinion of the Sustainability of society.
Well, it is a complex
topic, but we all agree that the ideal is an ecologic society. But, it seems that not many people do something in their lives. The mass-media and the public
opinion congratulates the ecologic micro-initiatives. Is that enough?
I recommend to see
this mini-documental: "The history of the stuff"
These guys claim that the micro-initiatives, of the family house especially, are completely
insufficient because the principal source of pollution is in the production of
the stuff, not in the destination of the package.
In other words, to
produce your garbage bag that you throw ... other seventy garbage bags are
thrown by the industries!
It is increasingly common that the industries buy fake green seals, and the
governments are quiet and silent because they have interlaced interest with the
entrepreneurs, in addition, paradoxically, the mass-media despite that congratulates
the ecologic micro-initiatives they don`t show the bad practices of the
industries. The French-Brazilian sociologist, Michael Lowy affirms that
the pollution is a characteristic in itself of the Capitalism, so that social model is
incapable to do an ecological development. Within this logic, the NGOs, which are devoted to palliate the model instead of transform it are
insufficient.
I do not want to
say that the ecological initiatives are bad, on the contrary, they are an important
mean of learning but not the end of the way.
In a radical
context like that ¿What can we do?
I will try to see that documentary, it seems interesting...
ResponderEliminarI agree. The nature of capitalism itself it's in a constant opposition of the green initiatives.
